ABSTRACT

Objective To improve the theory and practice learning of the students majoring in medical imaging by investigating the teaching method of"Medical Electronics"course. Methods The problems in teaching"Medical Electronics"course were summarized, and the causes were analyzed. Results Some improvement measures were proposed for teaching"Medical Electronics"course with considerations on the professional background of the students and the characteristics of the course, which proved its efficiency through practical trial. Conclusion For teaching medical students in electronics technology course, the methods such as integrating and optimizing contents of course, guided teaching as well as experiments and discussions by groups, have significant effects on improving students'learning enthusiasm and teaching efficiency.

ABSTRACT

Transistor amplifier is the key and difficult points in the teaching of medical electronics, however, most of the teaching materials on this content is insufficient.Meanwhile, medical students have little knowledge of engineering,so it is difficult for them to grasp the related knowledge. We introduced ‘ superposition theorem’ into the relevant teaching.Teaching practice proved that this reform made it easier for medical students to have an in-depth understanding of the content and better teaching effect was achieved.

ABSTRACT

From the first pacemaker implant in 1958, numerous engineering and medical activities for implantable medical device development have faced challenges in materials, battery power, functionality, electrical power consumption, size shrinkage, system delivery, and wireless communication. With explosive advances in scientific and engineering technology, many implantable medical devices such as the pacemaker, cochlear implant, and real-time blood pressure sensors have been developed and improved. This trend of progress in medical devices will continue because of the coming super-aged society, which will result in more consumers for the devices. The inner body is a special space filled with electrical, chemical, mechanical, and marine-salted reactions. Therefore, electrical connectivity and communication, corrosion, robustness, and hermeticity are key factors to be considered during the development stage. The main participants in the development stage are the user, the medical staff, and the engineer or technician. Thus, there are three different viewpoints in the development of implantable devices. In this review paper, considerations in the development of implantable medical devices will be presented from the viewpoint of an engineering mind.

ABSTRACT

Medical electronics has become an elective or the compulsory course in medical colleges, but the teaching condition has restricted the quality of teaching,so the educational reform is imperative. This article analyzed the medical electronics teaching actuality, and then according to their own teaching reform practice, put forward the future direction of the teaching reform on medical electronics —— strengthening teachers training and improving teaching condition.

ABSTRACT

The medical electronics teaching system was reconstructed by means of computer designed automation(EDA).In order to accommodate with the development of modern medical technique,a virtual teaching platform that could be used to teach, not only theoretically but experimentally was set up through electronic workbench(EWB) simulation technology. It can make the medical students figure out the principle of medical electrical equipment and the designed methods better.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: Seoul National University Bundang Hospital is the first full digital hospital with electronic medical record(EMR) system in Korea. We evaluated the user's satisfaction on the EMR system at 15 months from its beginning. METHODS: A total of 105 doctors and 503 nurses participated in this study. The questionnaire was composed of four domains: user satisfaction between paper records and EMR, User perceived improvement of work efficiency with EMR, user interface satisfaction and advantage/ disadvantage of EMR. A Likert-type 5-point scale was used for the degree of satisfaction, with 5 indicating 'very satisfied'. RESULTS: Doctors were more satisfied with EMR system than paper records, especially on editing (3.33 vs. 2.73, p0.05). Nurses were more satisfied with EMR system than paper records, e.g., editing (3.51 vs. 2.74, p<0.05), retrieval (4.07 vs. 2.51, p<0.05) and input (3.82 vs. 2.90, p<0.05). Also, doctors and nurses showed satisfaction for most of user interfaces. CONCLUSION: Users seem to be satisfied with the EMR system. EMR system should have a flexible system to improve the input system, the structured forms, and the standardized terminology according to the need of users.

ABSTRACT

This article is concerned about the practice and exploration on medical electronics teaching project and teaching pattern we have done before and the Active Participation Pattern thus formed. That is guiding, putting for ward questions, discussing, debating and summarizing in class while setting research problem after class. We also have made media courseware in medical electronics and have used it in our teaching process, which has aroused the students' interest in study and has enhanced the teaching efficiency and quality. This new method of teaching pattern helps us gain the strong feedback and affirmation and is welcome by the students.
